Machines & modules

The induction furnace and the press make the materials of the mod. Modules make them faster or thriftier, but heat keeps watch.

Two machines, wireless

They need no cable: placed within range of a controller, they draw their energy from the network (20 FE/t while they work). Hoppers and ports fill their inputs and empty their output.

The furnace also cooks like a normal furnace, twice as fast. In the press, the mold is never used up.

Modules

Each machine has 4 module slots. Modules of the same type add up; modules of different types combine.

Speed Module+50% speed, +60% energy, +25% heatBlock of Redstone
Efficiency Module-20% energyBlock of Lapis Lazuli
Parallel Module+1 operation at a time, +25% heatBlock of Quartz
Cooling Module-25% heatBlue Ice

The four modules use the same pattern: only the center ingredient changes (redstone, lapis, quartz, blue ice). See each module for its recipe.

Work rate×1
Power draw20 FE/t
Energy per operation×1
Heat produced×1

Base: 20 FE/t. The energy per operation is multiplied by the number of operations at a time: three at once use three times as much.

  • Speed: +50% work rate, +60% energy, +25% heat.
  • Efficiency: −20% energy (multiplied: ×0.8, ×0.64…).
  • Parallel: +1 operation at a time, +25% heat.
  • Cooling: −25% heat (multiplied: ×0.75, ×0.56…).

Heat

A machine that works heats up, from 0 to 100. It always cools down a little, faster when it is hot (0.4% of its heat per tick).

  1. 0 – 75Full speed.
  2. 75 – 100It slows down, to 25% of its speed just before overheating.
  3. 100Overheated: it stops until it cools below 50.
Nothing breaksOverheating only costs time. Cooling modules lower the heat produced.
