Power your network
A network that is off does nothing: here is what it uses, and three ways to power it.
What it uses
Every device uses energy all the time, in FE per tick (20 ticks = 1 second). These are the default values, and the server config can change them.
| Device | FE/t | FE/s |
|---|---|---|
| Controller · Controller | 2 | 40 |
| Disk Rack · Disk rack (empty) | 2 | 40 |
| Storage Disk T1 · Each disk in a rack | 1 | 20 |
| Terminal · Terminal, screen off | 1 | 20 |
| Terminal · Terminal, screen on | 4 | 80 |
| Universal Port · Universal port | 4 | 80 |
| Induction Furnace · Machine (furnace, press) working | 20 | 400 |
Machines of higher tiers use more: ×1, ×2, ×4, ×8, ×16, ×32 from T1 to T6.
Work out your network
A thermal generator makes 60 FE/t while it burns: that is how many you need to cover the usage.
Three ways to power it
Thermal Generator
The most direct. It burns what a furnace burns and makes 60 FE per tick of burning, sent without wire (up to 1,000 FE/t) to the block of your choice within the network range: the controller by default. It keeps 50,000 FE in reserve.
| Fuel | Burn time | Energy |
|---|---|---|
| Coal / Charcoal | 80 s | 96,000 FE |
| Blaze Rod | 120 s | 144,000 FE |
| Block of Coal | 800 s | 960,000 FE |
| Lava Bucket | 1000 s | 1,200,000 FE |
| Planks / Logs | 15 s | 18,000 FE |
Minecraft burn times, without modules.
Battery
It keeps 100,000 FE (T1) and recharges the controller without wire as soon as it falls under half, even when the network is off: a safety net. It takes and gives up to 1,000 FE/t. Charge it with the generator (choose it as destination) or with cables.
| Tier | Capacity | Max transfer |
|---|---|---|
| T1 | 100,000 FE | 1,000 FE/t |
| T2 | 300,000 FE | 3,000 FE/t |
| T3 | 1,000,000 FE | 10,000 FE/t |
| T4 | 3,000,000 FE | 30,000 FE/t |
| T5 | 10,000,000 FE | 100,000 FE/t |
| T6 | 30,000,000 FE | 300,000 FE/t |
Cables from other mods
The controller exposes its buffer (100,000 FE) on every side, and so does the battery: any energy mod that speaks FE can power them with its cables or generators.
Without energy?
The network turns off: devices show “No energy” and the terminal cannot be used. Once off, the network only restarts when the controller holds enough for one second (20 ticks) of usage again.
